8th Women's Affairs Ministers Meeting

Uganda will host the 8th triennial meeting of Commonwealth Women's Affairs Ministers Meeting (8WAMM) from 11 to 14 June 2007
The meeting, to be held at the Speke Resort Munyonyo outside Kampala, will bring together about 300 ministers and delegates from 53 member countries.
The theme for 8WAMM is 'financing gender equality for development and democracy.' The meeting will focus on strengthening institutional capacities to enhance gender mainstreaming and achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
Delegates are scheduled to review the implementation of the Commonwealth Plan of Action for Gender Equality 2005-2015 and decide on a monitoring and evaluation framework for it.
