Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba presents media award for Woman Journalist of the Year at 2010 Foreign Press Association dinner
Commonwealth Deputy Secretary-General Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba presented a media award for Woman Journalist of the Year at the 2010 Foreign Press Association dinner in London on 23 November.
It was the first time this award had been presented. Sunday Times journalist Marie Colvin was overall winner in the category for her story: Swift and Bloody: the Taliban's revenge. Sean Ryan, Sunday Times Foreign Editor collected the award for Ms Colvin, who was in New York at the time.
The black tie dinner was attended by around 370 British and foreign media as well as guests of the Foreign Press Association. London’s Mayor, Boris Johnson addressed the audience. The prestigious event honours excellence in British and Foreign reporting.
