Youths in Malawi, like any other African country keep facing a lot of challenges and the major ones being poverty, HIV/AIDS and unemployment. Limited opportunities for social/economic activities that young people can engage in has led to an increase in number of young women aged between 13 -25 indulging into commercial sex. This puts them at high risk of catching the HIV virus.

Uganda YAPL: New Adaptations

CYP Africa’s partner implementing agency, the Uganda Network of Young People Living with HIV/AIDS (UNYPA), has gone an extra mile in providing leadership for young positives by actively involving the Young Ambassadors of Positive Living (YAPL) to empower its members as role models to educate their peers on the dangers of HIV/AIDS and promote the value of lifestyle and behavior change for healthy living.

The CYP Diploma - A wealth of experience

For the past 25 years, Commonwealth Youth Programme Africa Centre has strengthened human resource development efforts in member countries through professional training courses in Youth in Development Through the Youth Work Education and Training Programme, CYP Africa has collaborated with Partner Institutions in the Africa Region to deliver the CYP Diploma course, and short courses relevant to the development of youth in development skills.
